Claire Stratton
Town Ranger
I am your newest part time Town Ranger and enjoying every minute of it.
I have lived in Eastleigh all my life and the town means a great deal to me and my family, I live with my partner and son and two stepchildren so I am a very busy lady. I attended Barton Peveril college and have worked as a waitress for many years.
I love swimming and also love ballroom and Latin dancing, which I do attend dance classes to try and learn and pretend I’m on Strictly!
Christmas is my favourite time of year and really love getting into the festive spirit.
Travelling and seeing the world is a big passion of mine, It’s not easy with three children but I have been lucky to go to some amazing places already, and will continue to tick more off the bucket list.

Business: McDonald’s
I have worked for McDonald’s as a manager for over 30 years, the last 10 as People Manager looking after 11 franchised restaurants over Dorset and Hampshire. I also cover all of the environmental projects and charity work that we do across our business. I have lived in Eastleigh since 1989 and am very passionate about the Town, despite being born in Southampton I very much consider myself an Eastleigh person! I have two grown up children and we share our home with our 3 Dalmatians, Standard Poodle as well as the cat and ducks & hens. In my spare time I show my dogs. We attend Crufts every year and love to travel to Europe in pursuit of my hobby, regularly showing in The Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg & Belgium. I’m very proud that one of my dogs is a Dutch & German Veteran Champion!

Business: The Swan Centre
Located in the heart of Eastleigh The Swan Shopping Centre is home to more than 50 stores including TK Maxx, H&M, Next, Argos, New Look and many more. The centre also has a great range of restaurant and leisure venues including Frankie and Benny’s, Nando’s, Prezzo, Hollywood Bowl, Anytime Fitness, Partyman World and VUE Cinema.
I joined the team at the Swan Centre in November 2013 and have worked for the past 15 years in retail and property industry.
Personally I believe in working together as a local community to ensure we can offer our customers a great experience and offer a point of difference to the competition. Having lived in Hampshire for the past 8 years I have always looked on Eastleigh as a town with great potential. I am proud to work in Eastleigh and believe the BID gives us a great opportunity to ensure Eastleigh leads the way giving all businesses the chance to thrive in a highly competitive market.

Business: Graham Martin & Co Chartered Accountants
I am a Scottish qualified, chartered accountant working in practice with Graham Martin & Co on Leigh Road. Having moved to Southampton on qualifying in 1983 I have been working in Eastleigh for the last 29 years. We deal with everything from little old ladies tax returns to ground-working contractors turning over in excess of £20m per annum.
Married to Naomi, (she works for NHS), we have one son, Callum. He’s currently working in Edinburgh but hoping to go off to play rugby in Australia shortly.
We live in Swanmore where we have been for the last 21 years. (Only 4 years to go before I can join the village cricket team). Outside work I am a keen rugby follower having been treasurer of Winchester RFC. Naomi and I seek out talent for the Scottish Exiles rugby pathway, identifying and supporting Scottish qualified players South of the border and overseas. Currently I’m treasurer of Bishops Waltham Dynamos football club. I played social, (very social), cricket for 20 years with an office team from Poole but these days I tend to restrict myself to watching.

Derek Pretty
Director
I live with my partner in Hedge End. Between us we have 3 sons and 5 grandchildren. Born and raised in Winchester I have lived in Eastleigh Borough since 1971. I first became interested in community matters in 1989 when I joined Hedge End Parish Council. In 2002 I stood for the Borough Council in what is now Hedge End North and have served this area ever since. I had the honour of being the Mayor of Eastleigh in 2008/9, and am now Cabinet Member for the Economy. I retired 3 years ago after many years in the construction industry which has allowed me more time to spend on family and representing the residents in my Ward and Eastleigh in general. I believe that Eastleigh has enormous potential for businesses and retailers. It is a great place to live, work and raise families and to create communities.

Camilla Sharp
Director
Business: Eastleigh Borough Council
“I joined Eastleigh Borough Council in June 2017 from a background in investment of one sort or another. My private sector experience includes spells in venture capital and bond management and my public sector experience was gained in Spain where I marketed the country as a business location to foreign investors.
It was in this capacity that I came into contact with commercial developers of all sizes and nationalities and worked on the emblematic Xanadu leisure and retail centre on the outskirts of Madrid. Negotiating flagship sites for anchor tenants such as Hard Rock Café and Leonidas chocolates as well as working with property management companies lobbying for relaxed Sunday trading laws, I could see at first-hand the positive impact of a vibrant commercial district on a location.
Hampshire born and bred, I am thrilled to have an opportunity to work with the BID which is, without a doubt, one of the things that makes Eastleigh such a thriving town centre”.
