JOB TITLE:  Domestic Superviser

 

EMPLOYER: One Community

 

RESPONSIBLE  TO: Options Manager

 

OBJECTIVES:

To balance the requirements of the existing client base and team members efficiently, and diplomatically, while also being able to create capacity to enable us to expand the services offered from the Options Hub
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a reliable and professional enhanced and flexible domestic service to clients to help maintain their independence in their own homes
  • Ensure staff are providing the highest standards of domestic support at all times
  • Supervise and support all staff and volunteers
  • Ensure the production, timely distribution and understanding of rotas for domestic team
  • Motivate and develop all staff and volunteers
  • Participate in the on call and out of hours service, covering visits as and when necessary
  • Ensure that the volunteer visiting scheme is meeting the needs of clients
  • Manage lone working processes to ensure all volunteers and staff are safe and accounted for
  • Communicate effectively with clients when organising visits
  • Work closely with team members to ensure the smooth running of the Options Hub throughout One Community
  • Maintain prompt and accurate written and computerised records in accordance with service and organisational policy and to be aware of the legal implications of these documents
  • Provide a robust induction for staff organising shadowing and carry out spot checks
  • Support the Options Manager with financial aspects of the role including staff timesheets, client hours and cancellations etc to ensure accurate invoicing
  • Maintain confidentiality of clients and staff in line with One Community’s policy and procedure, Data Protection Act 1998 and the Electronic Communications Act 2000

Other Duties

  • To provide cover when needed in any of the Options Hub Service setting including Day Centres
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • To effectively use monitoring, evaluation and reporting systems
  • To ensure that issues raised by clients and their carers/family members are treated with respect, sensitivity and that confidentiality is maintained

 

 

General

  • To be largely self-sufficient in terms of the post’s administrative work
  • To promote equality and diversity in all aspects of work
  • To comply with all of One Community policies and conditions of service as laid out in the Staff Handbook
  • To comply with and work to all One Community procedures
  • To undertake such additional responsibilities as required which are commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post
  • All employees and volunteers are expected to work as a team by actively sharing and exchanging information across the organisation, attending staff meetings when asked and working together with other staff when roles and interests overlap
  • Deal with members of the public, users of the scheme and other professionals in an appropriate and sensitive manner and to communicate effectively with them verbally and in writing
  • In all aspects of handling personal information all employees are required to work to maintain confidentiality and data protection
  • To participate in One Community meetings and appraisal sessions as appropriate

 

 

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Full conditions of service are detailed in the Contract of Employment and the General Employment Handbook. This post is subject to a minimum probationary period of six months

Hours:  24 hours per week

Some of which will be unsocial, (after school, evenings and week-ends) however, time off in lieu may be available in some circumstances and the post-holder may on occasions be required to work additional hours to fulfill the needs of the service.

 


All employees are expected to be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to their role and may be asked to perform other duties, which reasonably correspond to the general character of their role and their level of responsibility.  All employees are required to be flexible to undertake out of hours work as required, meetings outside office hours will be routine and officers will be expected to attend.  This job description will be supplemented and further defined by annual objectives which will be developed in conjunction with the post holder.
