Coming up at Energy Youth Centre
Firstly, their acclaimed youth boxing programme is restarting this month. Every Friday evening we have a professional boxing coach from Eastleigh Amateur Boxing Club for free, welcoming, friendly non contact boxing fitness sessions. this will also be staffed by two youth workers who will support and encourage participants along with discussing and exploring issues of violence, ASB and any issues currently affecting youth. For the first time as well we are also adding an hour for females only. We hope to introduce as many young people as possible to the disciplines of boxing and the help and guidance of our professional youth workers. Sessions start Friday 24th January and run every Friday 6pm-8pm males and females, 8pm-9pm females only. No need to sign up before hand, just turn up and get involved.
Secondly, they have the professional graffiti artist Kezia from Granary Arts coming in during their regular Monday evening sessions to create art with the young people to be installed within the centre. Come along and get creative and make spray paint art. The aim is to produce positive issue based art that looks great and allows young people a voice and make people think. Again no need to book, just turn up 6pm-9pm on February 10th, 17th, 24th and march 2nd.
