Welcome to the Alebrije Augmented Reality Trail!

Coming to Eastleigh town centre on Saturday 5th February. This is a different kind of trail for the whole family!

The ‘Alebrije’ Augmented Reality (AR) Trail is positioned around the town centre with ten magical creatures to find. Alebrije is a form of folk art that originated in Mexico where animals, both real and fantastical, are ornately decorated with colourful patterns and motifs. The ten creatures on the trail have been specially commissioned for the trail and five of them have been modelled in 3D for augmented reality. Once players open the AR they can take selfies or even record movies with the creatures.
The use of Augmented Reality means that you as players can not only discover the characters in participating locations, but you actually get to see them burst to life!!!

This is a QR code / Augmented Reality trail.

Start the trail by going to www.alebrijetrail.com and selecting Eastleigh as the location.

To take part:

  • Visit the website to see the trail map
  • Hunt down the creatures
  • Scan each of their unique QR codes with your smartphone, learn more of the story and take a hilarious selfie with the creature in AR
  • When you’ve found them all, download your free e-book to learn the conclusion of the story

The trail runs from Saturday 5th February 2022 – Saturday 5th March 2022.

This trail is an interactive experience, as you visit the characters (which you can do in any order) you’ll collect digital stamps, learn more of the story and be able to take special selfies with some AR characters. Then, when you’ve visited them all, you’ll be able to download a free digital storybook that concludes the story.
