The Mayor of Eastleigh joined staff from engineering, management and development firm Mott MacDonald and Eastleigh BID Town Rangers, for a spring clean in the town centre. The volunteers took to the streets to pick up discarded litter as part of the company’s annual sustainability week event.

Eastleigh’s Mayor, Cllr Darshan Mann said: “We make great efforts to keep Eastleigh looking clean and tidy, and volunteers and events organised by company’s like Mott MacDonald offer a great reminder that we should all take responsibility for our rubbish and our own environment. Making small changes can often make the biggest difference.”

Mott MacDonald’s stakeholder engagement manager, Richard Bowen, added: “Our team were eager to help as many of them live and work in Eastleigh and care deeply about the town’s environment and its appearance.”

The team of volunteers filled 12 large bags with discarded rubbish collected on sideroads between the Swan Centre and Leigh Road during the 90-minute session.
