We are very pleased to announce that there will be additional planters and seating for the town centre. The planters are due to be in place on the 4th and 5th of July with the seating following a few weeks later.

They are made of core ten steel and look similar to the five that are already in place between Leigh Road Car Park and the Market Place (next to Leo Leisure). They will arrive already planted up, although the plants will take some time to properly establish but will look fantastic in the future.

The seating will be installed in a few weeks time. They will be bolted to the planters and give the appearance of integrated units.

If you are a local business owner, please have a look at the plans and let EBC know (email contact details below) if there are any issues that have been overlooked.

Also, if you are planning to apply for a Tables and Chairs Licence and it looks like the planters may affect this, do please let us know and we will be happy to explore alternative placement.

The planters are all free-standing and can be moved with a pallet truck if there are any issues.

Please note, the Council are trying to get the Swan Centre circular seat and tree pit removed and re-paved as soon as possible, so there will be delay to the main planters in this area.

The final placement for the four small trees in Wells Place has yet to be agreed. So we are likely to vary from the current plan to maintain emergency vehicle access and prevent conflict with current street furniture.

Please forward any comments to Guy.Riddoch@eastleigh.gov.uk

We are looking forward to seeing the new planters and seating in place to further enhance Eastleigh Town Centre.
