Salary 30 hours per week £32,432 p.a. (£40K FTE)
One Community is an independent charity providing voluntary sector support and community development in Eastleigh and Fareham as part of its role as a Council for Voluntary Services (CVS). We also provide care services, information and community transport in the Borough of Eastleigh and beyond.

We have over 40 years of experience and in 2018, while celebrating our fortieth year we were awarded the prestigious Queens Award for Voluntary Services.
ANNUAL LEAVE: Max 39 days. All full-time permanent staff are entitled to 26 days annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays. After each full year of service everyone gets an increase of one day up to a maximum of 5 additional days (pro rata for part time staff).
PENSION: A contributory pension scheme – One Community will match contributions up to 5% of gross salary.

The Job role:
As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for the financial health of the charity.
You will be expected to produce financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research.
You will guide the senior managers in making sound business decisions in the long and short term as well as be responsible for the efficient and responsive day to day management and administration of the financial systems and resources of One Community.
You will report to project staff, the senior management team (SMT) and the Board of Trustees ensuring correct procedures are in place and will deal with queries and reconciling accounts.

You will have extensive experience in:
Using spread sheets and accounting packages (preferably in Sage Accounts)
Working within a senior management team and managing staff
Managing and monitoring the finances of a company or charity
The preparation of management accounts in either company or charity sectors
Budget production for multiple departments including forecasting and monitoring
Costing of projects
Reviewing internal controls and determining and implementing improvements
Liaising with outside bodies, auditors and HM Customs & Revenue etc
Working knowledge of VAT regulations
This is a senior management position and as such we expect a flexible approach to working hours to achieve deadlines and to meet key financial outputs.
You will have:
A professional accounting qualification and/or extensive relevant experience
Strong organisational and time management skills
Good communication skills
The ability to work on your own initiative and manage a changing workload
Intellectual acuity, energy and a positive approach to opportunities and challenge.
The ability to analyse and understand data, reach sound conclusions and resolve issues effectively
Administrative skills of report writing and record keeping
The ability to generate financial statements and management records and communicate the content to non-financial specialists
The ability to find practical solutions to problems
The ability to deal sensitively with people and work in close and positive collaboration with all stakeholders, with demonstrably strong team skills
