It’s been a busy start to the year for the Eastleigh Town Rangers who attended 149 incidents in January. The Town Rangers deal with a variety of different incidents including, First Aid and assisting businesses within the area with various things such as thefts and graffiti removal.
28 of the incidents attended in January were thefts from businesses, The Rangers support businesses in deterring thieves as well as assisting in identifying the culprits when a theft takes place.
During January a prolific known shoplifter was put on a 12 month ban from the Eastleigh Town Centre businesses, after they were seen in the area by a vigilant member of Shopwatch. The Rangers were called to confirm that the person was in fact the shop lifter in question. The Police were contacted, and the person was arrested and charged with the respective thefts. This is another example of how the Rangers work with the Police and the businesses to assist them with deterring and dealing with thefts.
During their weekly carboard collections, the Rangers noticed that there was a large amount of litter behind Timpson’s (on Market Street). They grabbed their bin bags and went out in the cold weather to clean up the area. Please see below the before and after pictures. Another job well done by our fabulous team 🙂
Our Rangers do a great job in helping to make the Eastleigh BID area a welcoming and safer place to visit and work. If you see them out and about please stop and say hello and inform them of any areas of concern that you have. They are a friendly, approachable bunch who are always willing to help.
