The Bank of England offers a free bank note-checking scheme that enables your business to reduce the financial loss and reputational risks caused by counterfeit banknotes and supports your community by preventing the spread of counterfeits and the crime associated with them.
The scheme will assist you in training your staff how to check notes at the point of sale as well as ensuring they know what to do with a counterfeit note.
It is free to sign up to the scheme and you will receive a welcome pack containing staff training materials as well as a regular newsletter keeping you up to date on best practise and counterfeit news. You will be the first to hear about banknote development as well as the withdrawal of old notes and you will have a point of contact at the Bank of England for any banknote enquiries.
