Ask for Angela is a campaign supported by National Pubwatch and is being launched across many licensed venues within Eastleigh.
People who feel that they are in an uncomfortable situation, feel unsafe or threatened due to the behaviour of someone else can discreetly seek help by approaching venue staff and asking for ‘Angela’ Once you have asked for ‘Angela’ you should then not be left alone until you have been helped.
Farah Benis of FFA Security Group, delivers Ask For Angela training and says the situation should be handled ‘discreetly’.
‘It would be entirely dependent on the situation, but the individual asking for help should be met with empathy and offered options to extricate themselves from the situation with their safety at the forefront of any decision making,’ she explains.
You can watch a video regarding the Ask Angela Campaign here.
The licensed premises within Eastleigh Town Centre are fully supporting this campaign and ensuring that all staff are briefed on what they should do when someone asks them for ‘Angela’
