May was another busy month for our Town Centre Rangers with a total of 121 calls. 11 of these calls were to confirm suspects that had been seen within local businesses. The businesses radio through to Town Centre CCTV and the Rangers will then attend to confirm in person that the suspect is who has been identified. Once confirmed, the necessary action is carried out.
As well as assisting members of the public with first aid and assisting the businesses within the Eastleigh BID area, the Rangers also try to open communications with vulnerable people in Eastleigh Town Centre.
This month a homeless male that Police had been trying to locate for some time was seen by the Rangers near Leigh Road Recreation Ground. Due to keeping themselves up to date, they were in a position to identify the male as wanted by the Police. They immediately called Town Centre CCTV who contacted the Police. The male was detained a shortly afterwards. Well done to all those involved.
Both the Rangers and Town Centre CCTV have been praised yet again by the Police for their vigilance. This is another example of how your Town Centre Rangers and the entire BID team are working hard to make Eastleigh a safe place to live, work and visit.
