February is the month of love and we love the results that we have seen in Eastleigh Town Centre thanks to the Town Rangers working with the Police and CCTV to catch out some shoplifters!
The Rangers worked with the police closely to catch a prolific shoplifter. The shoplifter in question had been shoplifting in the town for 2 weeks so all businesses were happy to know this individual had been caught. At the end of February Ranger 1 came across a group of girls who had stolen goods that were valued in excess of £70.00 from Superdrug. He requested they hand over the goods which they did. The goods were then returned to the store! They would have got away with it if it wasn’t for those Pesky Rangers (little Scooby Doo reference if you have not seen it!).
As well as assisting with business crime in the area, the Town Rangers alongside CCTV assisted the police in locating a person that they were looking for in relation to a warrant. The person was quickly found and successfully arrested.
The work that the Rangers do with the Police has been recognised. The Rangers along with Rich, the Visit Eastleigh Crime Reduction Coordinator have been nominated for an Award at the Police and Crime Commissioner Awards in March.
The Rangers also love to help out a good cause and this month have purchased raffle tickets for Comic Relief from TK Maxx.
The Rangers received a total of 90 calls to the Rangers in February which included first aid calls, details of potential offenders as well as assistance with general maintenance such as weeding and litter picking.
Our Rangers work hard to keep Eastleigh a safe, clean and tidy place to work and visit and do such a fab job. If you see them out and about do say hello, they are a friendly bunch.
