Please Report Any Crime Via DISC!!!

There is a new crime reporting feature that has been enabled on DISC.

Recently there were just 5 reports to the Police of Shoplifting for the whole of the Eastleigh BID area in a month. This is clearly under reporting as we were aware of and attended to many more incidents.

It is accepted that some businesses are reluctant to report incidents to the Police due to the time a report can take on the telephone via 101 or online. The only way we will maintain and increase our Police presence in the town centre is to ensure that our crime statistics match the reality and that ALL crime is reported.

Rich Moody, Eastleigh BID has enabled a feature on DISC that allows members of Shopwatch and Pubwatch that have access via DISC to report an incident directly to the Police through DISC. This is without the need to contact the Police in the other more traditional ways. Saving time and resources.

Simply click on the “Submit an incident” tile and you will be led through the report.

When you submit an Incident Report, a confirmation popup will appear, near the end, asking you if you would also like to submit a Crime Report about that Incident. If you click the “Submit as a crime report to police” button, a new Crime Report form will open.

You do not have to complete the Crime Report without stopping – there is the option of saving your report as a draft so that you can complete it later if you are interrupted.

Please ensure that your staff are aware of this new feature.

If you have any questions or if you would like help submitting a report please contact rich@eastleighbid.co.uk who will be very happy to help.
